Job Description

Psych NP- Geriatric Behavioral Health Division. The Psych NP will provide direct clinical service to patients including Intake and Discharge Assessments, Medication Management and Follow up 


Evaluate the physiological, neurological, and psycho-pharmacological status of the program's clients. Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medication. Complete AIMS testing every three to six months on residents receiving antipsychotic medication.


Be involved in quality improvement activities, other administrative activities, and help to develop programming as needed by the medical director. Collaborate with nursing/social services staff if a significant change in status occurs and on an ongoing basis 


Provide on-going education to patients, family members and team members on psychiatric illnesses and medications.


Participate in utilization review, peer review and quality management programs. Coordinate and foster collaborations with community agencies and hospitals in the care, treatment and services of patients. Provide supervision and consultation to other disciplines as assigned.  



Monday - Friday Work Week (No nights or Weekends)

Light Telephone Call (Shared with Docs/NP's 6 PM - 11 PM)
