Assistant Project Manager (APM)

Scheiner Commercial Group, Inc. (SCG) is a national general contractor headquartered in Monument, Colorado, with a strong presence throughout Colorado and projects spanning the country. For more than 20 years, our team of dedicated construction professionals has been committed to Building Retail Right™ by delivering exceptional service and outstanding results for our clients.

We are seeking an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work alongside our project managers from preconstruction through closeout, helping ensure that projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the drive to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers throughout all phases of construction, from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Coordinate communication among field personnel, subcontractors, architects, clients, consultants, and local officials.
  • Interpret and review drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Manage project workflows within Procore, including submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, drawings, punch lists, and closeout documents.
  • Coordinate deliveries, schedules, and project logistics.
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure timely distribution of information.
  • Attend owner-architect-contractor (OAC) meetings and document proceedings in Procore.
  • Support project managers in maintaining budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Consistently represents Scheiner Commercial Group in a professional, positive, and courteous manner when interacting with clients, trade partners, consultants, and team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Two to five years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager in commercial construction.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and construction documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Procore, and Bluebeam; experience with Microsoft Project is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • This is an on-site position located in Monument, Colorado.
