Job description

Assistant Project Manager - Newark, NJ (Public Transit Project)
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support a public infrastructure project in Newark, NJ, in connection with NJ Transit.
The Assistant Project Manager will assist, support, and work with the management team in the review and running of the project, and should be able to understand project plans, requirements, and specifications. The ideal candidate knows construction means, methods, and costs, and is confident supporting projects of varying size with strong communication and record-keeping. Experience with public agency compliance and reporting standards is a plus.
We are looking for a self-motivated team player who is excited about the opportunity to grow into a larger project management role.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with review of bid invitation packages and maintaining the subcontractor/vendor bidding list
Administering the permit process, Letters of Intent, and vendor invoice review
Administering the site logistics plan and safety manual submission
Creating, distributing, and tracking the submittal log, and reviewing submittals for compliance with contract documents
Collecting subcontractor lead times for materials and equipment
Administering the RFI process
Supporting the Project CPM Schedule and schedule updates under the PM's direction
Coordinating and documenting project and subcontractor meetings
Supporting quality control and document control, including posting sketches, RFIs, and directives to current drawing sets
Administering owner, subcontractor, and vendor payments in compliance with public agency requirements
College degree, engineering preferred
3+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, with public sector, transit, or municipal project exposure preferred
Experience with commercial, public work, and/or multi-family residential projects
Proficiency with project management software (ProjectSight, Procore, or similar)
