Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the construction industry and a strong understanding of project administration, contracts, change orders, submittals, invoicing, and overall project coordination. This position will work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and field personnel to help ensure projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and on schedule.


Duties

  • Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day administration and coordination of construction projects.
  • Review and maintain project contracts, purchase orders, subcontracts, and related documentation.
  • Maintain organized project files, schedules, logs, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, clients, architects, engineers, and internal team members.
  • Assist with project scheduling, procurement, material tracking, and delivery coordination.
  • Monitor project costs and assist with budget and financial tracking.
  • Help identify potential project issues and communicate them to the Project Manager.
  • Attend project meetings and assist with meeting notes, action items, and follow-up.
  • Support the Project Manager throughout the project lifecycle, from contract award through closeout.


Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in a project coordination, project management, or administrative role.
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and invoicing.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents, contracts, and project specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Experience with construction management/project management software.
