Job description

Bound Construction is a dynamic Construction Management firm seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager for a New York-based role with projects throughout the Tri-State area. An ideal candidate is a results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality construction projects.

As a leader in Corporate Interiors, Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, and EV Charging Infrastructure projects, Bound offers the opportunity to work on diverse and exciting assignments while collaborating with industry experts. Our work environment is both challenging and client focused.

Candidate should have over 3 years of construction experience, with expertise in interiors, mechanical, civil, or utility services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in managing RFIs, submittals, schedules, budgets, scope changes, and other project documents using Procore.
  • Support communication with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Participate in regular meetings with key stakeholders to report on project progress.
  • Communicate project risks to the Project Manager and assist in implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate project meetings with internal staff, stakeholders, and external parties.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with the project team.
  • Assist in developing and managing project schedules using MS Project.
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure updates are documented and reported.
  • Interpret and review construction drawings and documentation.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting specifications as required.
  • Support the design process to help ensure timely delivery of quality and budget-conscious documents.
  • Assist in preparing financial forecasts for upcoming project activities.
  • Assist in developing bid packages and soliciting proposals as per client policies.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Cultivate relationships within client organizations to coordinate work and make decisions effectively.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organization, with the ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a proactive and independent work ethic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam and Procore.
  • Ability to comprehend ARCH & MEP drawings and reports, with a focus on identifying potential improvements for project implementation.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • 3–5 years of relevant construction industry experience.
  • Experience in corporate interiors, mechanical, civil, or utility services.
