About the Role

Blue Line Drywall & Insulation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team in North Brunswick, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of construction experience who is looking to build a long-term career in commercial construction.

Working alongside experienced Project Managers and Estimators, you'll play an integral role in supporting projects from preconstruction through closeout. You'll gain hands‑on experience managing project documentation, coordinating subcontractors, reviewing plans and specifications, tracking schedules and budgets, and helping ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents.
  • Support estimating and preconstruction efforts by reviewing takeoffs, pricing, and bid documents.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and project documentation.
  • Track project budgets, schedules, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and closeout documents.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate potential schedule or budget impacts.
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Attend project meetings and visit job sites as needed.
  • Work closely with Business Development, Estimating, and Operations to support new and ongoing projects.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in construction, project management, estimating, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of commercial construction methods and materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience with estimating software such as PlanSwift.
  • Familiarity with Procore or other construction management software is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP or CRM systems is a plus.
