Job Description Summary
The Department of Accounting and Finance in the School of Business Administration at Oakland University is recruiting an assistant professor to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Accounting and to maintain a high level of quality research and service activities. For this appointment, candidates must have a Ph.D. in accounting or equivalent from an AACSB accredited institution (advanced ABD status considered), and evidence of scholarly achievement or potential, and quality teaching. Desired Qualifications: • All research and teaching areas will be considered, analytics, auditing and assurance services preferred • Evidence of scholarly activity that has positively impacted academic or professional audiences, • Evidence of effective Masters of Accounting, M.B.A. or equivalent teaching experience, • Leadership experience or an interest in taking on leadership responsibilities, • Relevant professional accounting and/or industry experience, • Possession of professional accounting certification, • Evidence of successful interactions with the professional community, • Evidence of obtaining external funding, • Ability to effectively collaborate with other faculty members, and • Experience/interest in Global/International aspects of Accounting.

Satisfy AACSB Scholarly Academic Standards (OU-SBA standards)
A Ph.D. in accounting or equivalent (advanced ABD status considered),
Evidence of scholarly achievement or potential, and quality teaching.

The Department of Accounting and Finance: The Accounting Program holds Accounting Accreditation from AACSB. The department offers both an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy. There are approximately 225 junior-senior undergraduate Accounting majors and 40 MAcc students. The School of Business Administration: The School of Business Administration is AACSB-accredited. It has approximately 2,000 undergraduate and 500 graduate students. The school is committed to enhancing its instructional technology and global management efforts. It is housed in Elliott Hall, which was constructed and opened in 2000.
