Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept
The School of Business is AACSB-accredited, has a strong commitment to both research and teaching, and serves over 3,000 students. In 2022, Portland State University was ranked #41 by U.S. News and World Report in terms of the "most innovative" universities in the nation. The university is dispersed over 49 acres of green space amidst the cultural and business center of downtown Portland. Portland is a thriving city of natural beauty, considered to be a model for livability, environmental stewardship, and new urbanism principles. Portland is located within a 90-minute drive of mountains and the Oregon coast.
Position Summary
This is a 9-month tenure track position starting 9/16/2027. A terminal degree in Accounting and a CPA or CMA certification are required. Public accounting experience and prior teaching experience is required. Preference will be given to applicants whose research topics and/or methods complement or augment existing faculty. The School seeks candidates whose experience has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.

Minimum Qualifications
Requirements for the position include:
(1) An earned doctorate with an emphasis in Accounting from a nationally-accredited institution;
(2) Current evidence or promise of a strong and innovative program of behavioral accounting research appropriate to career stage;
(3) Recent evidence or promise of high-quality teaching effectiveness in accounting,
(4) Experience or demonstrated ability to teach managerial accounting and accounting information systems/systems-related content;
(5) A minimum of two years of professional accounting experience;
(6) CPA or CMA certification;
(7) A strong and continuing commitment to research and teaching; and
(8) An interest in teaching in both traditional in person as well as online modes and primarily undergraduate courses, with the possibility of graduate courses, as needed.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be $150,000 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
