Job Title: Engineering Technician (Production) Location: Sterling, Virginia Type: Contract ( 2 plus years ) Compensation: $35.00 - 40.87/hr Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0 Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite

Responsibilities

  • Support production operations by working alongside engineers and welders to perform powder handling and assembly operations
  • Assist in material preparation for packing and welding operations
  • Assist the welder with crimping operations
  • Communicate effectively with engineering and management to ensure consistent and accurate flow of information for scheduling and delivery
  • Accurately document process information and data in FactoryLogix
  • Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with our quality system
  • Practice safe operation procedures at all times
  • Conduct regular maintenance and cleanouts of equipment and machinery, such as augers and kilns, to ensure safe and proper operation; training provided
  • Perform job responsibilities involving exposure to hazards such as steel powder handling, handling acetone, and welding operations
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years of age or more
  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in a related position
  • A strong willingness to learn new skills
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to work with computers and operating software
  • Preferred Experience with FactoryLogix or similar manufacturing execution system software
  • Experience working with fine metal powders
  • Experience using powder handling equipment
  • Dedication to safety procedures, including work area maintenance and organization
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in written form
  • Willingness to learn new skills
