Job description

Are you dedicated and passionate about ensuring safety and security but you aren't sure if being a security guard is for you? Sahara Global Security is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our rapidly growing Private Security and Investigations company where you can play a crucial role providing direct support to our Operations team and employees.
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday 0900-1700
Compensation: $18.00-$20.00 per hour (commensurate of experience)
Benefits: Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) eligibility, professional development assistance
Work Location: In-person
Ability to commute: Columbus, OH 43215
Day-to-day:
  • Post job listings through Auris Hire
  • Contact applicants to conduct pre-screening phone calls
  • Coordinate with applicants and Operations Managers to schedule interviews
  • Onboard new employees and provide onboarding assistance
  • Submit guard card applications through PISGS
  • Coordinate contact between employees and Operations Managers (new and existing)
  • Provide support to employees who request changes to their payroll profiles, contact information, assist with access to systems, etc.
  • Maintain up to date information across multiple documents tracking license expirations, employee training records, and basic employee information
  • Keep accurate, up to date records for all employees in Microsoft TEAMS

Weekly:
  • Report hiring metrics to the Director of Human Resources and Directors of Operations
  • Attend the weekly management meeting to stay up to date on staffing needs and look for opportunities for HR to support the Operations team

As Needed:
  • Create screening questionnaires for new job postings
  • Conduct in person interviews and meet and greets
  • Some travel within 2.5 hours for hiring events
  • Assist the Director of Human resources with other tasks

Basic Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years' experience in a customer service role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Time-management skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Ability to pass a BCI Background Check
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Associates degree or higher in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field or
  • HR specific certification (SHRM, HRCI, or other specialties)
  • Military and/or law enforcement experience
  • 1+ year experience in an HR role (Recruiter, Analyst, Specialist, Generalist, etc.)
  • 1+ year experience working with Microsoft Systems
