JOB SUMMARY
TekniPlex is hiring an Assistant Press Operator-1st Shift for our Madison, WI facility. As a Production Assistant, you will assist press operators, slitting operators, and/or compounding operators with the set up and operation to produce products per the customer standards. The Production Assistant will appropriately understand and follow the plant's OHSE and Quality Systems to maintain a safe workplace and ensure quality product. The hourly range for this position is between $21 - $23 per hour.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the set-up and operation of printing and slitting equipment to meet quality and productivity requirements
  • Complete documentation in an accurate manner
  • Maintain housekeeping standards of production equipment and the surrounding area
  • Preform packing and material handling tasks as needed
  • Preform work in the cleaning room
  • Preform core cutting as required
  • Responsible for helping the site meet their quality objectives
  • Follow all company safety rules and procedures
  • Work in set up area as required
  • Assist with training as required
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Preform related duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement process (CIP) by identifying and addressing any opportunities to reduce cost, improve the product/process and/or the overall operation and participate in CIP teams to eliminate problems, streamline operations or other areas as defined by management.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience operating a press preferred
  • Forklift experience
  • Proficient math and measurement skills, knowledge of metric conversion required
  • Knowledge of mechanics and general chemistry preferred
  • Basic knowledge of safety principles and eagerness to maintain safety standards
  • Ability to detect and solve problems that affect our finished products
