Job description

Maintenance Technician – Industrial Laundry (Hourly/Non-Exempt Position)

Join Alsco’s Edmonton facility as a Maintenance Technician supporting large industrial textile-processing equipment/ You’ll keep equipment running safely and reliably, reduce downtime, and collaborate directly with the Chief and production teams.

This is a dayshift role, Monday through Friday, with rotating start times (5:00 AM / 6:30 AM / 8:30 AM) and occasional weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain industrial processing equipment, boilers, water systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and respond to daily and emergency maintenance requests.
  • Troubleshoot electrical (including 3phase 230V), mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and boiler systems.
  • Read and follow blueprints, electrical schematics and manufacturer manuals.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in the CMMS and document repairs/parts.
  • Assist with parts transport, equipment moves and other facility tasks as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

  • 5th Class Power Engineer with 2 years of industrial plant maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, basic electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge.  
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PLC programming experience.
  • Boiler operator ticket, welding certification, forklift ticket.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics.
  • Expereinced with CMMS and preventative maintenance programs.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, and working in confined spaces.
  • Exposure to heat, humidity, noise, dust, lint and varying temperatures.
  • Relevant certifications (boiler operations, PLC programming) may be required
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and operate industrial equipment

Work Environment

You'll work in an industrial laundry facility with indoor and outdoor work areas. A fast-paced environment with large equipment and active production lines. Physical demands include lifting up to 60 pounds, operating forklifts, and working with equipment weighing up to 500 pounds. Occasional travel may be required for parts procurement or training opportunities.
