Job description

Your mission:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Steam Plant Operator to join our Power and Recovery department at Mondi Hinton Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the steam plant, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with environmental regulations.

  • Operate and monitor steam plant equipment including boilers, turbines, and auxiliary systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning properly and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of plant operations and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless plant operations and address any issues that arise.

Your profile:

  • High school diploma with 2 of the following courses completed; Chemistry 20, Physics 20 or Math 20; or a valid 4th or 3rd Class Power Engineer Certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating steam plant equipment, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of steam plant operations, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Proficient in the use of computerized control systems and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
