Port Royal Club, located in the heart of the prestigious Port Royal neighborhood in south Naples, Florida, is a private beach club dedicated to luxury, leisure, and exceptional service. Membership is exclusively tied to property ownership within the Port Royal community, making the Club a cornerstone of one of the most distinguished addresses in the country.


Our Club offers an array of world-class amenities, including a 10,000-square-foot fitness center featuring yoga, Pilates, and spin classes, as well as a serene spa for wellness and rejuvenation. The tennis center boasts nine Har-Tru clay courts and a 1,300-square-foot pro shop, catering to both recreational and competitive players.


Following the impact of Hurricane Ian in 2022, the Club has embarked on a $100 million redevelopment to reimagine our facilities. The new 62,000 sq ft clubhouse—set to open in fall 2026—will embrace timeless West Indies architecture and offer an elevated member experience, featuring a coffee shop, three signature restaurants with indoor and outdoor dining overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, four bars, a banquet venue, a lap pool, and access to our pristine private beach.

The Pro Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Port Royal Club Pro Shop, ensuring an exceptional retail and member experience. This role manages merchandise purchasing, inventory control, visual displays, sales performance, and staff supervision while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.


The Pro Shop Manager works closely with club leadership, and members to provide a welcoming and personalized experience. Responsibilities include selecting and merchandising premium tennis apparel, equipment, and accessories; managing vendor relationships; monitoring inventory levels; and ensuring the Pro Shop reflects the quality and reputation of Port Royal Club.


Additionally, the Pro Shop Manager leads and develops Pro Shop staff, coordinates member events and tournament merchandise needs, and implements strategies to maximize sales and profitability. Through strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence, the Pro Shop Manager plays a vital role in enhancing the overall member experience and supporting the success of the Club.


Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as a Team Member in the Tennis Pro Shop.
  • Greet members and guests as they enter the pro shop.
  • Responsible for maintaining, organizing and populating court reservation system on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for all aspects of pro shop sales.
  • Purchase all supplies and merchandise for Tennis Operation.
  • Arrange and meet all vendors and learning about the new merchandise.
  • Assist all Tennis events from planning, communication, photography, participation, execution to post event follow up and billing member payments.
  • Promote, solicit and sell instructional lessons, programming, camps and club activities/events to membership.
  • Attend club events and assist new tennis members.
  • Be available to attend seasonal merchandise, trade shows and meet with new vendors for potential shop orders.
  • Create and be responsible for all budgets, inventory invoicing payments, monthly reports, committee notes and agendas.
  • Create content for advertising, marketing campaign for events and in store promotions.
  • Handle all product shipping for tennis members.
  • Create events, add graphics and reoccur programming on court reservation system.
  • Point of contact for tennis Northstar system and tech glitches.
  • Responsible for data compilation and working with Northstar to obtain correct information.
  • Help nurture tennis relations with other internal club wide departments.
  • Attend operations meetings and staff meetings.
  • Organize and work with league directors for registering for seasonal teams and future league calendar dates.
  • Register all tennis players and process all payments.
  • Train and educate tennis league members on how to utilize Top Dog and USTA platforms for match schedules and registration.
  • Collaborate with local league directors on scheduling seasonal and playoff matches at Port Royal.
  • Provide membership with the ultimate customer experience, handle and address member complaints.
  • Responsible for the interior and exterior maintenance of the tennis pro shop building including safety equipment.
  • Assist court maintenance team when needed (i.e.: sweeping or lining of courts).
  • Manage the round robin, social league plays and participate when needed.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Associate's degree (AA).
  • 3-5 years related experience as a pro shop attendant/ buyer at a private club or high-end hospitality resort.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in retail management; golf and tennis shop experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of tennis and athletic apparel.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and inventory management software.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Will work indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to wet and/or hot conditions.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
