Job description


$500 SIGN ON BONUS TO THOSE WHO QUALIFY!


We are actively hiring for the position of Cutter Operator for our plant in Solon, OH.


Shift:  1st shift Rotating Schedule every 2 weeks


1st Week

  • Sunday & Monday: Off
  • Tuesday through Friday: 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM 
  • Saturday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM


2nd Week 

  • Sunday: Off
  • Monday through Friday: 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM
  • Saturday: Off


 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Access IMS program to determine priority jobs and set the workload for the day.
  • Place printed jobs on the jogger to align and weigh according to job specifications.
  • Align the prepared batch inside the cutter to select a cutting program to follow.
  • Follow the cutting program, cutting from the biggest measurement to the smallest measurement.
  • Monitor the assigned machine during each cut to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and operating speed.
  • Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve them if possible, and notify the Bindery Supervisor/Plant Management.
  • Replace worn cutting blades with hand tools when required.
  • Keep accurate press sheet information in Logbooks with dates and counts.
  • Record production and operational data, such as the number of materials processed.
  • Report any and all workplace hazards to management immediately.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstations are in good working order and is free of any safety hazards.
  • Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
  • Must be proactive with completing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year’s experience using Polar or Heidelberg cutting machines and general printing process.
  • Ability to measure and count accurately.
  • Knowledge of cutting programs on machines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers.
  • Ability to safely use hand/power tools.
  • Ability to multi-task with changing priorities
