ABOUT METRO PLASTICS TECHNOLOGIES
Metro Plastics Technologies is an industry leader in custom plastic injection molding. With over 50 years in business, Metro Plastics has extensive plastic production capabilities, engineering expertise, and a dedicated on-site tool room and metrology lab supporting operations in a newly built state-of-the-art facility in Noblesville, IN.
PURPOSE:
Performs routine maintenance on injection mold tooling. The Injection Mold Maintenance Technician is responsible for all aspects of the injection mold processes including changing out molds, completing setups, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of injection mold equipment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Successfully assemble and disassemble injection molds.
  2. Identify tooling components that either need repaired, replaced, or cleaned.
  3. Clean and replace worn tooling components. Repair some minor components with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
  4. Document, with clarity, inspection forms and work orders.
  5. Check work thoroughly to ensure quality.
  6. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical school certificate or degree a plus.
  • 1-year job-related work experience.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, manuals, and safety rules.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities with strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to handle and manage change effectively and efficiently.
  • Self-starter and able to effectively work without close supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment
  • Employee will stand or walk most of their work hours
  • Employee will routinely use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
