Job description

Ironwave Technologies is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant/Assistant Plant Controller with demonstrable experience in the EPICOR ERP environment supporting a fast-paced electronics manufacturing operation in the high-tech military/commercial RF space. The candidate will be a key finance partner to operations, engineering, and supply chain—owning cost standards, BOM/routing accuracy, variance analysis, and margin insights across multiple business units. This role is hands-on and data-driven, ideal for someone who thrives in high-velocity environments.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Costing & Product Economics

  • Own and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead in EPICOR; drive periodic cost roll-ups across business units
  • Validate BOMs and routings in partnership with Engineering/Operations; analyze purchase price variance (PPV), labor and overhead absorption, and manufacturing variances
  • Perform contribution analysis to guide pricing and product portfolio decisions
  • Lead cost revaluation and yearly/quarterly standard updates; document assumptions and change impacts

Manufacturing Finance & Variance Analysis

  • Create and maintain KPI dashboards: material usage variance, yield/scrap, throughput, inventory turns, WIP aging, on-time delivery cost impacts
  • Reconcile and analyze inventory valuation (RAW, WIP, FSA, FG) and confirm cycle count/physical inventory results; lead root-cause and corrective actions
  • Support Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning with cost and inventory insights, including reserves and demand variability impacts

Close & Compliance

  • Work with Finance team on monthly manufacturing close activities: accruals, variance settlements, production order reviews, etc.
  • Support the preparation of consolidated management reporting
  • Ensure documentation of costing processes, approvals, and EPICOR configuration changes

Business Partnering & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive EPICOR enhancements (method of manufacturing, lot/serial controls, cost roll workflows, MRP/MES integrations, reason codes, variance postings)

What Candidate Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or IT with a Finance emphasis (or related)
  • 3 – 6+ years in cost accounting/financial analysis in high technology electronics manufacturing
  • Hands-on EPICOR experience configuring/maintaining standard costs, BOMs, routings, and variance reporting
  • Advanced Excel (Power Query/Power Pivot), strong data hygiene, and experience with other Business Intelligent tools
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing environment 


Preferred

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA
  • Experience with lot/serial traceability, compliance (e.g., ITAR, ISO 9001)
  • Knowledge of SQL, EPICOR BAQs/BPMs, and report building (SSRS)
