Position Summary:
Must live or be willing to relocate to within a one hour radius of MB Haynes Corporation's main office in Asheville, NC. In this entry level construction role, you will work under the direct supervision of a qualified Journeyman Pipefitter. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, maintaining piping and piping systems, fixtures, equipment for steam, hot water, heating , cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems.
While the primary duty of this position is assisting the Pipefitter, Haynes Industrial is an industrial maintenance company - our craftsman must work in multiple disciplines for our industrial customers. Our people become skilled multi-craftsman.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Measuring, cutting, threading and assembling new pipe, placing the assembled pipe in hangers or other supports.
- Cutting or drilling holes in walls or floors to accommodate the passage of pipes.
- Performing rough-ins, repairing and replacing fixtures and water heaters, locate, repair, or remove leaking or broken pipes.
- Assisting pipe fitters in the layout, assembly, and installation of piping for air, ammonia, gas, and water systems.
- Cutting pipe and lifting up to pipe fitters.
- Fitting or assisting in fitting valves, couplings, or assemblies to tanks, pumps or systems, using hand tools.
- Disassembling and removing damaged or worn pipe.
Requirements:
- Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance. Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the job site, inspectors, customers and the public.
- Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
- Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools.
