Chart Industries is seeking an experienced Welder-Pipefitter to join our Repairs team in New Prague, Minnesota. This position plays a critical role in the repair, rehabilitation, and replumbing of cryogenic vessels and pressure-containing equipment. Our team manufactures and rehabilitates high-quality products while adhering to ASME, DOT, AAR, and EN pressure vessel codes.

What Will You Do?
  • Replumb, repair, and weld vessels using established manufacturing processes
  • Perform GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) welding in various positions
  • Complete welding, fitting, grinding, and finishing operations on repaired units
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts safely and effectively
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld procedures, and welding symbols
  • Maintain production records, material traceability documentation, and production travelers
  • Perform visual inspections to ensure quality standards are met
  • Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all company safety procedures and policies
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced welders as needed
  • Complete required training and certifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Your Experience Should Be...
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a Welding Training Program preferred
  • Experience with vessel repair, pipefitting, fabrication, or related welding work
  • Proficiency in GTAW and GMAW welding processes
  • Ability to weld in multiple positions
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and welding symbols
  • Knowledge of welding best practices and quality standards
  • Experience performing visual weld inspections
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with web-based systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and stooping
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, and handling of materials
  • Occasional climbing and work at elevated heights
