Job description

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer Analyst to join our team, primarily working on-site in classified spaces within NSWC-Crane facilities in Central Indiana. You will help meet the requirements of our expanding customer base at NSWC-Crane and establish the nucleus for an emerging Mission Engineering capability at Crane. This includes working directly with customers, study leads and model developers to create and execute analysis plans in various simulation environments including AFSIM, SUPPRESSOR, EADSim and other mission and engagement level models. You will replicate systems or concepts under consideration for various operational scenarios using concepts of operation and behaviors. Additionally, you will define bounds for run matrix execution, carry out run execution, and perform analysis of results. You will work with a study team as well as independently within guidelines and assist less experienced team members. You will assist in AFSIM plug-in planning, modifications, and integration.
Responsibilities:
• Working in concert with other MTSI distributed Mission Engineering teams, define study questions to address areas of concern and translate into analysis plans.
• Develop models in physics simulation frameworks to represent system performance and behaviors.
• Conduct simulation runs for studies using defined run matrix and produce output.
• Assist in performing verification and validation of simulation input, output and results.
• Post-process output data into measures of merit and effectiveness to support the analysis plan objectives.
• Assist in interpretation of model results and development of presentations to deliver findings and conclusions to the customer in support of their analytical objectives.
• Assist in architecting, developing, and testing AFSIM plug-ins using C++.
Required Qualifications:
• US citizenship and a secret level security clearance is required.
• 3+ years of experience with mission-level modeling and simulation and Operations Analysis principals.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, operations research, computer science or similar field.
• Knowledge of modeling and simulation methodologies and tools (i.e. AFSIM, Suppressor, or EADSIM).
• Familiarization with developing experimental designs, executing study plans, and constructing scenario elements.
• Experience with object-oriented programming and principles, particularly C++.
• Experience with dev-ops and software architecture.
• Experience conducting data analytics using various tools.
• Experience with statistics and their application in Monte Carlo simulations.
• Some local travel required.
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with modeling and simulation methodologies and tools.
• Experience presenting data and results to team members and customers.
• Experience with data visualization or visual communications.
• Experience developing AFSIM or other M&S software plug-ins with C++ or a similar language.
• Experience with ancillary disciplines such as radar operations, weapons systems, satellites, etc.
