Substitute Paraprofessional (Non-Certified Position)

Compensation:

  • $112.00 per full-day Non-Certified Paraprofessional assignment
  • $120.00 per full-day Non-Certified Paraprofessional - Special Program assignment
ย 

Qualifications:

ย 
  • Current State of Illinois Paraprofessional Certificate or Substitute Teaching Certificate or Professional Educators License registered in Will County/Region 56ย 
  • Associates Degree or higher; or 60 hours of college coursework; or ACT Work Keys; or ETC ParaPro Test
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  OR
  • Current State of Illinois Paraprofessional Approval
  • High School Diploma
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 
Requirements:
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to communicate comfortably with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and others
  • Ability to be flexible and patient
  • Ability to follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures
  • Must be punctual and reliable
ย 
Job Description:
  • Assist students across school settings (classroom, lunch, recess, restroom) if necessary
  • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting
  • Monitor student behavior
  • Leaves notesย  for the regular paraprofessional at the end of the teaching day
  • Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators
  • Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Ensure the safety of students at all times

Incentives:
  • Non-Certified Paraprofessional - Special Program ONLY
    • $100.00 stipend after 30 days worked
    • $125.00 stipend after 60 days worked
    • $150.00 stipend after 90 days worked

Selection/Hiring Process:
Applications are reviewed on a regular basis and qualified applicants will be contacted.ย  When selected the applicant will be required to:
  • Submit the following documents:
    • Official transcripts showing 60+ credit hoursย or ACT Work Keys or ETC ParaPro Testย 
    • Driver's License and Social Security Card (DHS Authorization documents if applicable)
    • Physical (dated within 90 days)
    • TB Test (dated within 1-year)
  • Complete the following:
    • Fingerprint-based Criminal Background check performed at the District 202 Administration Building
    • GCN online tutorials
    • Online forms via Applitrack
    • Substitute Orientation
