Position Purpose

Provides physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to patients across the age continuum. Assists the physical therapist within established guidelines to develop a rehabilitative plan of care with realistic goals, based on a functional evaluation or reassessment. Provides education to patients, family members, students, staff and to the community at large. Coordinates services with other medical disciplines, making recommendations as appropriate to facilitate a complete rehabilitative process. Participates in Performance Improvement and Risk Management.

As a Physical Therapy Assistant you will:

• Providing treatment and services withintheirlicense'sscope, andas required by lawand regulation.

• Accountable for the implementation of a written treatment plan and administers treatment for each patientaccording to the stated goals.

• Helpstrain patients andthe patient'sfamily in the use of medical equipment and make recommendations forappropriateequipmentas necessary.

• Participates in planning for patient discharge by considering and communicating with patients,families, andcommunity.

• Continuously assessespatient'sstatus and effects of treatment whenwarranted. Reviews goals withpatientandfamily asappropriate duringplanof care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate from a physical therapist assistant training program accredited by American Physical TherapyAssociation.

• Required:Associate degree

• State of Marland Physical Therapist Assistant License or eligible to obtain licensure prior to hire date.

• American Heart Association BLS

Pay Range: Include Salary Range ($26.42-34.34)

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
