Job description

About the Role

As our Inventory & Operations Assistant, you will be the operational backbone connecting our production team, logistics partners, and external vendors.

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in business operations, inventory control, and logistics management. This is not an entry-level stepping stone—we are looking for a sharp candidate with a proven history of workplace stability who wants to plant roots and grow with our team.

  • Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000
  • Location: Elkridge, MD (In-Office / Warehouse)
  • Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Control & Auditing: Maintain and update inventory tracking databases and Excel spreadsheets. Perform routine cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and proactive root-cause analysis to resolve stock discrepancies.
  • Shipping, Receiving & Quality Control: Inspect and verify all inbound/outbound materials against purchase orders (POs) and shipping manifests. Maintain meticulous receiving documentation and electronic record control.
  • Logistics & Dispatch Coordination: Work closely with production teams to schedule freight deliveries, manage pickup schedules, and track daily outbound project shipments.
  • Vendor & Supply Chain Relations: Serve as a point of contact for vendors regarding purchase orders, material sourcing, order status updates, and invoice/billing reconciliations.
  • Operational & Administrative Support: Support management with operational reporting, KPI tracking, document control, and administrative workflows.

Qualifications & Ideal Profile

  • Proven Career Stability: A demonstrated track record of long-term commitment (ideally 3 to 5+ years per employer).
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree is strictly required (Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, reporting, analysis) and standard Office applications.
    • Exposure to ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS, SAP, Oracle, RedPrairie, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Operational Background: 2+ years of experience in inventory management, shipping & receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, or purchasing/procurement.
  • Communication & Problem Solving: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal management. Sharp, independent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot shipping variances and inventory discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Currently employed candidates are strongly preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Dependable work ethic with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and document accuracy.
