Ophthalmic Scribe
Michigan Locations: Fraser, Port Huron, Rochester Hills, Royal Oak, Warren, and W Bloomfield
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Scribe to join our team and contribute to providing quality and compassionate care to our patients. In this role, you will balance administrative and clinical responsibilities, playing an essential part in delivering seamless, high-quality care to our patients while supporting our staff.
Position Summary
  • Welcome patients warmly and guide them to an exam room.
  • Support optometrists and ophthalmologists during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Accurately transcribe medical information and enter data into the electronic medical record system (EMR).
  • Enter medication, lab orders, and medication refills per protocol for provider review and sign-off.
  • Keep patient areas clean, organized, and prepared for use.
  • Assist patients with questions, forms, an general inquiries to enhance their experience.
  • Work closely with medical and administrative teams to ensure cohesive operations.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED
  • 2 years' experience as a medical assistant preferred
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Proficient in medical terminology
  • Experience with practice management and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Strong attention to detail when managing patient records and documentation
  • ​Friendly and approachable demeanor to make patients feel comfortable
  • Excellent communication skills to support both patients and team members
  • Reliable and willing to contribute during weekly team meetings
