Position Summary

The Technical Sales Associate supports business development, customer engagement, and sales activities for Syntec Optics’ advanced optics, photonics, and precision manufacturing solutions. This role works closely with customers, engineering, operations, and leadership teams to support quoting activities, manage customer communications, and help drive revenue growth across key industries including medical device, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and industrial technology markets.

This position is ideal for an individual with strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and an interest in advanced manufacturing and customer relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Sales Support

• Serve as a point of contact for customers regarding product inquiries, quotations, order updates, and technical requests.

• Support the sales team in developing and maintaining customer relationships.

• Assist with preparing quotations, proposals, pricing information, and customer presentations.

• Coordinate customer communications and follow up on open opportunities and project status updates.

• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and opportunity tracking within CRM systems.

• Support new business development initiatives and lead generation activities.

Technical & Product Support

• Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to understand product capabilities, specifications, and manufacturing processes.

• Assist customers with basic technical questions related to optics, photonics, precision components, and manufacturing services.

• Help gather technical requirements and customer specifications for quoting and project review purposes.

• Support the review of drawings, specifications, and customer documentation alongside internal technical teams.

• Coordinate internally to ensure customer requirements are communicated accurately and efficiently.

Account Management & Coordination

• Assist with managing customer accounts and ongoing communication throughout the sales process.

• Support project coordination between customers and internal departments including Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.

• Help monitor delivery schedules, customer expectations, and project timelines.

• Participate in customer meetings, conference calls, and site visits as needed.

Market & Business Development Support

• Research market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within optics and photonics industries.

• Support trade shows, customer visits, conferences, and networking events.

• Assist with preparation of sales reports, forecasting information, and business development materials.

• Contribute to company growth initiatives and strategic sales efforts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred.

• 1–3 years of experience in sales support, customer service, account management, manufacturing, or technical sales preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to understand and communicate technical information to customers and internal teams.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

• Experience with CRM systems or ERP systems preferred.
