U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance are required for this position. Position Overview: Our partner is seeking a passionate and mission-focused Senior Software Engineer to support NGA initiatives focused on geospatial intelligence and FAA/public air traffic control insights. This is an opportunity to work with modern software development practices and technology stacks while developing intelligence analysis products that address critical mission challenges for NGA customers. The ideal candidate is energized by modern architectures, enjoys solving challenging technical problems, and can contribute across the software development lifecycle. Depending on the program, the role may focus on AERO applications supporting FAA and public air traffic control insights or the Geospatial Center of Excellence. Position Responsibilities: * Design, develop, and maintain enterprise software applications using modern JavaScript frameworks, including React.js.
* Develop backend services and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and/or Node.js.
* Architect and implement scalable, resilient microservices-based systems.
* Design and develop web services and APIs with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.
* Translate complex business and mission requirements into scalable technical solutions.
* Own the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
* Develop high-performance applications supporting mission-critical intelligence analysis products.
* Design and work with relational, spatial, and NoSQL databases.
* Develop and integrate database solutions supporting enterprise applications.
* Work with AWS cloud environments and AWS tooling, including S3.
* Collaborate with software engineers, technical teams, and mission stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions.
* Contribute to modern software architecture, development practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support the development of geospatial information systems and applications when applicable. Required Skills/Experience: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
* 10+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering/development.
* Experience designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack applications.
* Strong experience with React.js.
* Experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
* Foundational knowledge of Node.js.
* Experience with web services architecture, design, and development.
* Experience designing and developing microservice architectures.
* Experience with RESTful web services and APIs.
* Experience with relational database design.
* Experience with spatial database design.
* Experience with NoSQL database design.
* Experience working in AWS and utilizing AWS tooling such as S3.
* Ability to translate business requirements into high-quality, production-ready software.
* Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and modern development practices.
