Senior Supply Chain And Purchasing Representative

Hunt Oil Company (HOC) began as a small family-owned business and has expanded into a well-respected oil and gas industry leader. Today, the Company operates 120,000 net acres across the Williston Basin in North Dakota. The Company has remained a driving force in North Dakota's oil and gas sector for more than twenty years. In recent years, HOC has been a major player in the unconventional area, participating as an early entrant in several of the premier oil and gas shale plays in the United States. Internationally, the Company holds a 25.2% non-operated interest in Peru's Camisea project and has maintained a presence in Kurdistan since the early 2000s. In addition to its oil and gas operations, Hunt Oil participates in the global LNG market, with liquefaction facilities operating in Peru since 2010 and in Yemen since 2009.

The Senior Supply Chain and Purchasing Representative will lead the procurement of materials and services in support of all Upstream operations across the company. This position will play a critical role in capital and operational expenditure activities through Strategic Sourcing methods that include using market data to manage our supply chain activities in a way that aligns with our long-term business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Upstream Operational Procurement
  • Relationship Building: Build strong, trust-based relationships with field-based operations teams through regular engagement and on-the-ground presence.
  • Vendor Compliance: Build relationships with suppliers and ensure contract compliance across Upstream operations; flag and resolve gaps before they impact fieldwork.
  • Problem Solving: Act as the first point of resolution for supply, delivery, and vendor performance issues affecting Upstream operations, escalating and coordinating with field leadership as needed to keep operations running without interruption.
  • Contract Management Support: Provide tactical purchasing support to the Contracts team by keeping purchase orders, service agreements, and pricing terms for Upstream vendors current and accurately documented.
Core Responsibilities
  • Procurement & Materials: Responsible for the procurement of drilling, completion, and production material goods (casing, tubing, wellhead equipment, production equipment, line pipe, and other controllable or requisitioned items), and coordinate delivery of newly purchased facility equipment and material repairs to existing facilities.
  • Material Control & Asset Tracking: Own Material Control functions for Hunt, including material transfer processing, inventory records, monthly reports, metrics, write-downs, and the material master database; track issuance and receipt of company-owned equipment, conduct lease inventories, assist with material transfers in SAP, and serve as the primary purchasing facilitator for facility asset tracking.
  • Surplus, Equipment & Well Closeout: Coordinate the return of surplus material to suppliers, sale of scrap, and movement of surplus from rig sites back to the storage yard; assist with district vehicle purchases and arrange the sale of Hunt-owned lease equipment when needed; and perform well record reconciliations upon well completion.
  • Contracts Support: Support the Contracts team with timely and accurate completion of procurement documentation, including requisitions, Requests for Quotes and Proposals, bid evaluations, and purchase orders, and assist with service agreements and pricing negotiations as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Continually develop process improvements across the purchasing space
Required Skills
  • Solid oil and gas technical and equipment knowledge, including casing, tubing, wellhead, and production equipment.
  • Solid negotiation skills, with the ability to work in close alignment with the Contracts team on pricing, terms, and vendor agreements.
  • High energy with a very proactive, self-starter approach to identifying and resolving issues before they escalate.
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States and Internationally
Required Experience
  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain or Industrial Distribution.
  • 8+ years of Upstream Oil and Gas Experience or service company experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of oil and gas procurement practices, including sourcing, bid evaluation, and purchase order administration.
