Job description

Imperative Chemical Partners has an immediate opening for a Service Technician in Laurel, Mississippi. If you are interested in joining a growing company with a proven track record of success, this is your opportunity!

SUMMARY:

The Service technician is required to have or be able to acquire a knowledge of specialty chemical products for use in oil and gas operations. The Service technician performs chemical treatment of oil wells, minor troubleshooting, and maintenance of the wells, and is the field representative to assist and answer customer questions or concerns.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Understand chemical treatment of wells
  • Communicate issues and questions to immediate supervisor in a timely and thorough manner
  • Interact with customer and other field personnel to answer questions and resolve issues
  • Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot field equipment in support of chemical treatment programs
  • Perform preventive maintenance/cleaning on pumps and trailers after daily use
  • Knowledge of valve and well pressures while on oilfield locations
  • Properly label tanks according to regulatory agency requirements
  • Ability to use phone app-based system to perform service and communicate all customer location visits and to create shipping papers and make deliveries when necessary
  • Perform tailgate analysis/failure reporting when necessary
  • Rig up equipment (gooseneck and/or bumper pull trailers)
  • May be required to deliver chemicals when needed
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of chemical process and utilization in yard and field operations
  • Maintain company property in good order (equipment, tools, computer, phones, trucks, etc.)
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE/safety gear in accordance with company policy
  • Keeps current on safety techniques and takes advantage of all opportunities to improve driving and safety skills
  • Recognize and avoid safety hazards in the work environment
  • Adheres to company safety policies and guidelines
  • Other duties may be assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Acceptable driving record for a minimum of 3 years
  • 0-2 years of oil and gas employment or equivalent education and experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills
  • Previous oil and gas well experience
  • Understanding of fundamental chemical properties (oil/water solubility)
  • Experience in and competent knowledge of chemical batch treatment process
  • Understanding of well and valve pressures
