With a reputation for technical excellence, collaborative project execution, and client-focused service, they provide comprehensive engineering solutions from concept through construction.

Their multidisciplinary team partners with owners, architects, contractors, and developers to design high-performing, efficient, and sustainable building systems. As the company continues to grow, they are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead complex electrical engineering projects while mentoring technical staff and contributing to the continued success of the organization.

About the Position

This role requires a seasoned engineering professional who can provide technical leadership, develop innovative design solutions, and oversee multidisciplinary project coordination while ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource for project teams, mentor junior engineers and designers, and work closely with clients, contractors, and internal leadership throughout every phase of project delivery.

Candidates must reside in the Cleveland metropolitan area or be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of electrical design, engineering, and specification development for commercial building projects.
  • Develop conceptual and schematic electrical designs for complex projects within aggressive project schedules.
  • Organize and manage engineering activities throughout design and construction.
  • Direct and mentor engineers and designers assigned to project teams.
  • Review electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction documents to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary project teams to meet project milestones and budget objectives.
  • Perform site surveys, field investigations, and existing equipment assessments.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to field questions and resolving technical issues.
  • Monitor project scope, engineering budgets, and construction budgets while proactively communicating potential changes.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining company engineering, drafting, and design standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, architects, and other project stakeholders.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading electrical engineering and design for commercial building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, lighting, life safety, and building electrical systems.
  • Experience preparing electrical calculations, construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously while managing schedules and budgets.
  • Experience directing and mentoring engineering and design staff.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform site investigations and coordinate engineering support during construction.
  • Candidates must currently reside in the Cleveland metropolitan area or be willing to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary engineering project coordination.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard electrical design software and BIM/Revit platforms.
  • Experience working directly with architects, contractors, and building owners on commercial construction projects.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of $120,000-$130,000, based on experience
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and personal time
  • Retirement savings plan with company contribution
  • Professional development, continuing education, and licensing support
  • Opportunities for advancement into technical and leadership roles
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work environment
  • Exposure to diverse and technically challenging commercial building projects
