About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Engineer to join our team. This role is central to ensuring the reliable, efficient, and forward-looking operation of our utility systems. You will play a critical part in maintaining and enhancing our SCADA, AMI, and system protection infrastructure while collaborating across engineering, operations, and IT teams.

This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, contribute to long-term system planning, and directly influence the scalability, reliability, and performance of the infrastructure that powers thousands of homes and businesses.

Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Services
  • Assist with the development of long- and short-term system work plans.
  • Perform sectionalizing studies, voltage drop analysis, fault current analysis, and load studies.
  • Evaluate equipment specifications to ensure system improvements meet high technical standards.
  • Maintain accurate system records, databases, and collaborate with third-party engineering firms.
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
  • Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot SCADA systems.
  • Monitor real-time system performance and optimize reliability.
  • Configure SCADA interfaces to meet specific operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure seamless hardware, software, and communications integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA issues to minimize downtime.
AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) & System Protection
  • Maintain and optimize AMI systems for accurate data collection and monitoring.
  • Support system protection design and ensure operational compliance with safety and industry standards.
  • Implement proactive solutions to enhance performance and reduce system vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
  • 3–5 years of experience in utility engineering, SCADA, AMI, or system protection.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in load flow and fault studies.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SCADA platforms, communications protocols, and operational technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a small, dynamic team.
