Job description

This role provides technical leadership to support network operations and mentorship of junior technicians in technical theory and operational discipline. It involves managing technical issues, guiding project initiatives, and ensuring effective communication with relevant partners. The role requires advanced knowledge of network theory, project management, core networks, transport, signaling protocols, and disaster recovery planning. Success is measured by effective resolution of technical issues, progress in project management, and improvements in operational processes. The work impacts organizational efficiency and network reliability, contributing to improved service delivery for customers. The technician leads complex cell site integration projects - including NSD, DAS, and COW - and drives post-integration site performance validation, software upgrades, and feature activations to ensure successful deployment. This role is currently being offered in the following locations: Norristown, PA, Bloomfield, CT, Norton, MA, Charlotte, NC, Syosset, NY, Liverpool, NY, and East Providence, RI.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical direction and support to improve network performance and resolve outages within and beyond the immediate team
  • Lead key projects and initiatives, guiding junior technicians and reporting progress, challenges, and resolutions effectively
  • Identify and develop process improvements related to maintenance and repair activities, recommending implementation to management
  • Create training materials and facilitate training sessions to maintain and enhance technical skills and organizational knowledge
  • Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed

Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required)
  • Acceptable areas of study include Telecommunications Technology, Network Engineering or related field (Preferred)
  • 2-4 years Working experience in switch operations and maintenance. (Preferred)
  • 4-7 years Wireless telecommunications or other related experience. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 5G New Radio (NR) - Working knowledge of LTE and 5G RAN architecture, including eNodeB/gNodeB, cell site routers, transport, and core network elements (Required)
  • Facilities Operations (Required)
  • Leadership - Demonstrable experience mentoring junior technicians and leading multi-functional technical initiatives, including ownership of integration projects, DR plan execution, or OSS data governance programs (Required)
  • Maintenance Scheduling (Required)
  • Network Design - Understanding of transport technologies including fiber, backhaul, microwave, and IP routing fundamentals (Required)
  • Network Operations:
    • Experience with network monitoring and alarm management tools (e.g., Fault IQ, NetAct, Ericsson OSS, Nokia NetAct, Splunk) (Required)
    • Ability to perform logical cell site turn-up activities including configuration validation and KPI verification (Required)
  • Network Troubleshooting - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to isolate issues across RF, transport, and logical network layers (Required)
  • Project Management - Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex, multi-site incident resolution and serve as a domain expert for switch, transport, RAN, and core network issues without supervisory guidance (Required)

  • Direct experience with T-Mobile systems including PIER, RIOT, One-Console, TPIM, CBN tools, SAS/ALU, and EAI/Netviewer (Preferred)
  • Experience with E911 testing, validation, and CBN-based provisioning workflows (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Ericsson and Nokia RAN platforms and associated OSS/EMS tools (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with ITIL change management practices and documentation standards (Preferred)
  • Experience supporting special events, disaster recovery activations, or DAS/COW deployments (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior technicians and leading technical projects or multi-functional initiatives (Preferred)
