About the Position

We are seeking professional and dependable Event Security Guards and Event Security Officers to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI for dedicated 3rd shift and late-night event coverage. This dynamic role offers flexible scheduling across a wide variety of local venues and gatherings that extend into the late hours, including live concerts, crowded festivals, private functions, community gatherings, and high-profile corporate events. Shifts for this position are focused on overnight, late-night, and holiday hours depending on specific event timelines. As an overnight event security guard or officer, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, performers, vendors, and venue staff during post-operational hours. Responsibilities include monitoring main entrances and restricted exits, conducting foot patrols, assisting with crowd management, and providing top-tier customer service. Ideal candidates are observant security professionals who remain calm under pressure and handle high-traffic environments with confidence.


Scheduling & Availability

Varying days depending on the venue and event calendar.

Flexible shift openings: Dedicated strictly to Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.


Key Responsibilities

Monitor event entrances, exits, and restricted access areas to prevent unauthorized entry during late-night and overnight shifts.

Conduct regular foot patrols throughout diverse event venues and surrounding perimeter areas overnight.

Assist venue management with crowd management and verbal de-escalation when necessary.

Provide excellent customer service and helpful directions to event guests, staff, and vendors.

Enforce all venue policies and event rules firmly while maintaining strict professionalism.

Respond promptly to medical incidents, physical disturbances, or site emergencies.

Work closely and collaboratively with event staff, security supervisors, and local law enforcement when needed.

Monitor crowds for suspicious activity or safety hazards and report concerns to supervisors immediately.

Document incidents and detailed observations accurately in written post-event reports.

Maintain a highly visible, authoritative, and professional security presence throughout the overnight event.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Reliable transportation to travel to various event locations in the Grand Rapids area.

Ability to successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for high-volume public interaction.

Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during long overnight event shifts.

Previous experience as an event security guard, venue security officer, military veteran, or law enforcement official is preferred but not required.

Proven ability to remain completely calm and professional in fast-paced, loud environments.
