Job description

DP World is a dynamic and growing Global 3PL/4PL provider. Over the coming years, DP World will grow and the engineers who work with us will be part of and critical to this growth. It is a lean employment environment and thus, the NE team must be an efficient and flexible working team. The ability to multitask and work under various time restricting pressures is a critical element of employment.
The role of a network engineer is to design and implement which includes site surveys for new sites and to assist with day-to-day operational running of existing sites across the Americas region. This includes maintenance patching and site refreshes as and when required. This also includes work in datacentres to ensure the upkeep of the estate. The network engineer is required to have had 4+ years of enterprise network knowledge and used to working in dynamic large environments.
Eligibility Requirement
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
Strong Cisco switching and wireless skills and experience in large deployments
Experience and knowledge of routing, SD-WAN, Firewall, VOIP, Network application tools, automation and cloud migration CCNA certified, CCNP a bonus.
Proven experience installing and configuring networks for 4+ years.
Ability to multitask and prioritise under pressure.
Experience installing, configuring, customizing and supporting enterprise applications such as (switches, Routers, access points, Firewalls).
EXPERIENCE
Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure.
Strong time management, analytical and problem-solving skills
Previous experience following change management and change control processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working on and away from site with a firm understanding of Canadian, American, and South American culture.
Experience working both independently and as part of a team
Network segmentation experience desirable.
Palo Alto/Checkpoint/FortiGate Firewall certification desirable.
Working on Velocloud SD-WAN will also be a plus but not essential.
Strong Cisco knowledge of routing and switching and including wireless infrastructure.
4+ years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting networks across various disciplines, this also includes site surveys and procurement of network hardware.
About the Role
How you will contribute
  • Install, configure, maintain network services, equipment and devices and monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.
  • Perform troubleshooting analysis of network services, including LAN, WAN, WLAN and other communication devices and document network problems and resolution for future reference and work with other departments within the infrastructure department and help perform troubleshooting analysis of network services to identify infrastructure issues.
  • Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing patch fixes and OS upgrades.
  • Planning and implementing future IT developments and undertaking project work.
  • Strong background in Layer 2 (spanning tree, vlan, VTP) and Layer 3 (routing, EIGRP, BGP knowledge) technologies.
  • MPLS Experience and working with vendors and IPSEC VPN Tunnel knowledge.
  • Interact with internal and external technical leaders to develop innovative solutions that meet business needs with respect to availability, functionality, performance, capacity planning, scalability, and reliability implementation schedules and adherence to architectural standards.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call systems operational support on a rotation basis for the technical environment and associated transit networks.
  • Perform troubleshooting analysis of network services, including LAN, WAN, WLAN and other Comms devices as well as conduct daily monitoring and periodic performance tuning, maintenance and redundancy testing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Key Qualifications
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, business administration or commerce.
  • A combination of equivalent professional training and certifications, combined with a minimum of five years related work experience in a position(s) with increasing responsibility and supervisory duties may be accepted.
  • Current Cisco CCNA Certification required, nice to have CCNP, CCIE
  • Networking: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, PPP, MPLS IPSEC HSRP
  • Experience within a technical support environment.
  • A solid understanding of the architecture and components of Cisco devices.
  • PIX/ASA Firewall knowledge.
  • Must be able to speak Fluent English and have good English written skills.
  • Some travel may be required.
