NOVACES is seeking a Senior Operations Research Analyst for a U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center Business Operations Division support opportunity in Baltimore, MD.
The Senior Operations Research Analyst will apply advanced analytical, mathematical, and quantitative methods to evaluate, optimize, and improve SFLC logistics and business processes. This role will support strategic planning, resource allocation, asset and system support optimization, logistics engineering analysis, and continuous improvement through data-driven decision support.
The successful candidate will conduct analysis related to the planning, acquisition, and sustainment of logistics support for surface assets, including supply chain management, engineering services, manpower planning and distribution, and other logistics processes. Work may include statistical analysis, simulation, computer modeling, linear programming, data mining, and visualization of large or complex data sets.
The role will also provide business-focused advice and expertise to improve internal processes, program/project performance, business plans, policies, procedural documentation, performance measures, organizational assessments, and quality control activities. The candidate may present analytical findings and recommendations to leadership and project teams, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and help monitor outcomes over time.
This is a proposal-contingent position supporting anticipated work on site at Baltimore, MD. Work may be performed through a mix of onsite and remote support from a CONUS location, subject to Government direction and approval.
Education: Bachelor's degree. Advanced degree in operations research, industrial engineering, systems engineering, mathematics, statistics, data analytics, business analytics, or a related field preferred.
Experience: 8+ years of experience in operations research, quantitative analysis, logistics analysis, modeling and simulation, business analytics, supply chain analysis, manpower analysis, process improvement, or related analytical roles. Federal, DHS, DoD, Coast Guard, logistics, readiness, sustainment, or asset management experience preferred.
Certifications: Lean Six Sigma, DAWIA/DoD acquisition, Agile, analytics, data visualization, or project-related certifications helpful. Must be able to obtain a Tier 1 clearance.
