This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Thursday-Saturday, 1800-0630. Also required to work every other Wednesday, 2200-0630.
Job Description
The Medical Lab Scientist provides quality and timely laboratory tests for inpatients and outpatients, ensuring that test results are clearly reported to nursing and medical staff. Effective communication with a diverse patient population and their families is essential when performing special procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests for inpatient and outpatient populations.
  • Report test results to nursing and medical staff clearly and promptly.
  • Assist with technical questions from clinical lab assistants, physicians, and nurses.
  • Promote positive customer service behavior at all times.
  • Handle communication regarding delays in patient care efficiently.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • 2 years of experience required.
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification (ASCP) required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a NV license.
  • Travelers may be required to float as needed up to their competency level.
