Job description

Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift
Department: Maintenance
Hours: 3:00p.m – shift end (hours may vary)
Schedule: Monday – Friday + Saturdays
Location: Holland, Michigan

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance of all assigned plant equipment, including service, repair or replacement of gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, etc.
  • Ensure the mechanical and physical integrity of the production equipment.
  • Reduce the production down time as a result of mechanical failure.
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance measures are completed on a timely basis.
  • Assist Mechanics as needed to complete machine repair and/or equipment troubleshooting
  • Assist production departments for a timely set up.
  • Properly and safely use maintenance shop equipment (drill press, lathe, pneumatic tools, etc.) to complete projects.
  • Follow all safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, email, and follow up with daily tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Ability to safely work at a self-motivated pace and with little supervision.
  • Have sound troubleshooting skillset
  • Must be able to describe and display the following:
    • Working knowledge of Electrical, (20ma -480V)
    • Strong mechanical aptitude
    • Strong understanding of Pneumatics and Hydraulics
    • Ability to read electrical prints
    • Ability to read Mechanical drawings, and schematics
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or relevant training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Extensive walking and standing
  • Lifting up to 50lbs

  • Pushing/pulling various weights
  • Working from scissors lift

  • Cold and dry conditions
