Front of House Shift Lead (Barista & Bartender)Khepri Kitchen | Mount Prospect, IL

Are you passionate about great coffee, craft beverages, and creating exceptional guest experiences?
Khepri Kitchen is a community-centered café and scratch kitchen serving specialty coffee, craft cocktails, local beer, wine, and thoughtfully prepared food. We're looking for a Front of House Shift Lead who enjoys leading by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and loves connecting with guests.
Whether you're an experienced bartender interested in learning specialty coffee or a barista ready to expand into craft cocktails, wine, and beer, we'll provide the training you need to succeed.
Position Details

  • Full-time, year-round position
  • Consistent weekly schedule
  • Shifts are either:
    • 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM
    • 1:30 PM – 9:30 PM
  • Weekend availability is required
  • Flexibility for evenings, holidays, and special events is appreciated
What You'll Do

  • Lead front-of-house operations during your shift while creating a welcoming atmosphere
  • Prepare espresso beverages, teas, matcha, and seasonal café specialties
  • Learn and serve craft cocktails, wine, and local craft beer
  • Deliver outstanding hospitality and confidently recommend menu items and beverages
  • Open and close the café while maintaining quality, cleanliness, and food safety standards
  • Process guest transactions using our POS system and assist with daily cash reconciliation
  • Restock products, merchandise retail items, and maintain an organized front-of-house
  • Support and mentor fellow team members while working closely with the kitchen to ensure smooth service
  • Assist with catering, special events, and community gatherings as needed
What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a barista, bartender, server, or in hospitality preferred
  • Passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences
  • Excited to learn new skills through cross-training
  • Strong communication and multitasking abilities
  • Reliable, organized, and dependable
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Illinois BASSET Certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus
