Job description

Job Title: Field Services Technician, Electrical and Controls
Reports To: Senior Field Services Manager
SUMMARY: LogistiQ, is a fast-growing conveyor equipment supplier for customers in retail, ecommerce amp; distribution located in Port Clinton, Ohio. With deep roots in American ingenuity, LogistiQ has the experience of a 100-year-old company but operates much like a start-up with high energy and nimble speed.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical and Controls Technician to join our team in providing field services to customers in the Conveyor Industry. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and control systems for conveyor systems in customer facilities. You will work closely with other team members, customers, and vendors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and control systems for conveyor systems in customer facilities.
  • Collaborate with Field Services Project Managers, Lead Technicians, customers, and vendors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems for conveyor systems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Provide training and technical support to customers on electrical and control systems for conveyor systems.
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation, including manuals and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of work performed, including time and materials used.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree in electrical technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and control system installation, maintenance, and repair, preferably in the Conveyor Industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with AC/DC drives, motors, sensors, and other control devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours.travel up to 80%
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as proposals, engineering drawings, specifications, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Fluent in reading and writing English.
  • Understanding of Spanish is a plus.
ADDITIONAL COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have technical ability to use a mobile device such as a smartphone, tablet or laptop computer
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to use multi hand and power tools associated with conveyor installation.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms and pick up items of at least 50 lbs.
  • Employee will be exposed to materials that have SDS sheets but are not life threatening.
  • Ability to climb ladders, operate a forklift and scissor lift and practice proper safety per OSHA standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
