Step into a rewarding coaching journey with our Recreational and Preschool Gymnastics Coaching Program where passion meets purpose.
This program is designed for those who love working with children and value the beauty of gymnastics. You'll learn the core skills needed to confidently coach foundational levels, using our detailed weekly lesson plans to teach, motivate, and keep classes safe and positive.
Gain hands-on experience in spotting and safely assisting athletes on different apparatus while creating a supportive, encouraging environment. You'll also receive in-depth training on Vision Gymnastics' safety and behavioral procedures to help you maintain a well-structured, thriving class.

Responsibilities
  • Teach written weekly lesson plans
  • Arrive 30 minutes before scheduled class time
  • Attend daily PowWow's
  • Carry a positive attitude
  • Wear appropriate coaching uniform
  • Practice appropriate coach body language (no sitting, no talking to other coaches while actively coaching, no backs turned to kids)
  • Coaches will teach skills and abilities at each apparatus, following the standard Vision Gymnastics Lesson Plan
  • Observe athletes and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement
  • Provide training direction, encouragement, motivation, and advice to assist athletes in reaching their goals
  • Coaches must ensure controlled class management
  • Spend equal time with all athletes, apply appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary, and practice positive reinforcement.

Requirements
  • A genuine passion for working with children, patience in teaching methods, and a love for gymnastics are essential qualities for coaches.
  • Coaches must have the ability to stand for a period dictated by the duration of their assigned shift
  • Coaches will be required to set up and tear down stations for each class
  • Coaches must inhabit the ability to follow and set up stations and events following the provided lesson plans and provided pictures
  • Coaches must have the ability to lead and supervise classes of all different age groups
  • Coaches must have the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Coaches must have the ability to have personable communication with parents, staff, and athletes daily.
    • The ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and clients
  • Coaches must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and up;
    • this job includes physical activity including but not limited to, spotting, moving mats, adjusting equipment- pulling, lifting, crouching, balancing, and climbing.
  • Coaches will be required to set up a safe gym environment: including but not limited to
  • Adhering to safe practices for all equipment
  • Ensuring safe technique is being used while spotting
  • Reviewing gym and facility safety protocol with new athletes
  • Adapting equipment for the age, ability, and size of athletes
  • Being familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures

Several coaching positions are available, with training beginning in July so you'll be ready to make a difference when the school year starts.
We're hiring coaches to work with children ages 2-12 in both our Preschool and Recreational gymnastics programs. We have available shifts Monday-Friday from 3:00-8:00 PM, as well as daytime opportunities for Preschool classes. We may also be opening a few Saturday morning classes and will need additional coaches to help support our expanding schedule.
