Description

Ebeam Operator 2nd Shift - 3:00pm - 11:00pm

Training Shift - 7:00am - 3:00pm 

As the Lead Operator, you will be responsible for various activities to ensure the efficiency and productivity in the Flex Pack conversion department. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments. Your primary focus will be to ensure the smooth operation of the conversion process while upholding high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team in performance, efficiency, and punctuality.
  • Coordinate deliveries to the warehouse and make the deliveries/pick-ups in emergency situations.
  • Assist with special R&D projects and new product development.
  • Communicate with swing shift supervisor and procurement team to arrange for daily materials transportation.
  • Maintain inventory to company standard. Report daily inventory levels to the Finishing Manager.
  • Assist with schedule modifications as necessary, based on business needs.
  • Monitor quality checks across shifts and ensure required quality activities are being performed, (i.e., bond tests, tape tests, etc.)
  • Verify daily Flex Pack schedule, daily operator metrics, and cleaning schedule are being correctly updated and cataloged.
  • Assist with major maintenance activities (Foil replacement, cryo pump replacement, filament replacement, and reconditioning and regeneration of the Ebeam unit.)
  • Promote a safe working environment and communicate any hazardous situations where potential injuries could take place. Train new employees on safe working practices.
  • Manage testing of new sleeves and aniloxes.
  • Assist with shipping activities as needed.
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • HS (GED) required.
  • 2-3 years’ experience operating similar machinery.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable clean motor vehicle record (MVR).

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Mathematical aptitude and the ability to calculate simple equations.
  • Ability to read and interpret Standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Basic oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Additional soft skills required: Ability to prioritize, being proactive, problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer program knowledge, knowledge of press operation.
  • Ability to safely drive various company vehicles.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Training Requirements:

  • None

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting, sitting, standing, crouching, repetitive tasks (specify as necessary). Production: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening.

Work Environment:

  • Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment.
  • Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Safety shoes and eye protection are highly recommended in the production area.
