Lawn Maintenance Team Member


Reports To

Crew Leader / Operations Manager


Position Summary

The Lawn Maintenance Team Member is responsible for providing high-quality lawn care and landscape maintenance services for residential and commercial properties. This position works as part of a team to maintain turf, shrubs, landscape beds, and outdoor areas while delivering exceptional customer service and representing the company in a professional manner.

This position is designed for individuals who want to grow within the company. Team members who demonstrate reliability, leadership, quality workmanship, and a positive attitude may have opportunities to advance into Crew Leader and management positions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lawn Maintenance

  • Mow lawns according to company standards.
  • String trim around buildings, fences, trees, signs, and landscape beds.
  • Edge sidewalks, driveways, and curbs.
  • Blow off all sidewalks, driveways, patios, parking lots, and other hard surfaces.
  • Remove weeds from landscape beds when required.
  • Assist with shrub trimming and pruning.
  • Assist with seasonal cleanup services.
  • Pick up trash and debris from properties before and after service.

Equipment Operation

  • Safely operate:
  • Commercial zero-turn mowers
  • Push mowers
  • String trimmers
  • Edgers
  • Backpack blowers
  • Hedge trimmers
  • Chainsaws (when authorized)
  • Perform daily equipment inspections.
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment immediately.
  • Clean equipment and vehicles at the end of each workday.

Property Care & Quality Control

  • Follow company quality standards on every property.
  • Maintain clean, professional appearances at all job sites.
  • Watch for irrigation leaks, drainage issues, turf disease, pest activity, or property damage and report findings.
  • Ensure gates are closed and secured before leaving properties.
  • Take pride in producing quality work efficiently.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety procedures.

  • Leave shop on schedule.

  • Follow directions from Crew Leader.
  • Work efficiently without sacrificing quality.

  • Help teammates complete scheduled work.
  • Treat customer property with care and respect.

End of Day

  • Clean equipment.
  • Refuel equipment when needed.
  • Report damaged equipment.
  • Assist with unloading and securing equipment.
  • Help prepare for the next workday.

Qualifications

Required

  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods.
