Job description

The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is seeking a dependable and safety-minded Delivery Driver to join our team. This part-time position plays a key role in ensuring library materials, mail, supplies, and equipment are transported safely and efficiently between library locations and the community we serve.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate library vehicles to transport library materials, mail, supplies, equipment, and other items between library locations and approved community destinations.
  • Follow established delivery schedules while maintaining flexibility to accommodate operational needs.
  • Load, unload, lift, and transport materials in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Verify deliveries for accuracy and ensure materials are delivered to the appropriate location.
  • Maintain delivery records and complete required logs or documentation.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance needs, safety concerns, or accidents.
  • Assist with the movement and setup of furniture, equipment, and materials for library programs and events.
  • Assist with custodial duties and minor facilities maintenance tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Assist with seasonal groundskeeping duties such as snow removal, salting walkways, litter pickup, and light landscaping.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to safely operate library vehicles in varying weather and traffic conditions.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer and mobile device skills.
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in a similar transportation position preferred.
  • Experience in facilities, custodial, or maintenance operations preferred.


Compensation

  • Starting hourly rate: $14.24
  • Position is part-time, scheduled for 25 hours/week.
