The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Department of Plastic Surgery is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery services. Working collaboratively with plastic surgeons, residents, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams, the APP provides comprehensive outpatient and inpatient clinical management, perioperative care, first-assist support in the operating room, and patient education. This position plays a critical role in improving patient access, enhancing surgical efficiency, optimizing clinical outcomes, and supporting the academic, research, and educational missions of USF Health while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compassionate care.

Master's or Medical degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and

This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464
and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida
Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64.
Clinical :
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and documentation for reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery patients.
Evaluate new and established patients in both outpatient clinic and inpatient settings.
Develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in collaboration with supervising plastic surgeons.
Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory, radiographic, and diagnostic test results.
Perform preoperative evaluations and surgical clearances within scope of practice.
Provide postoperative care, including wound assessments, drain management, dressing changes, splinting, and
suture/staple removal.
Diagnose and manage common postoperative complications, escalating care to the attending surgeon as appropriate. Assist in the operating room as First Assist, including tissue handling, exposure, retraction, hemostasis, suturing, and wound closure. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university.
Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
Responsible for academic advising and related activities.
May represent the university, college/school, or department.
