Boys JV Basketball Coach
Ellsworth High School - EHS Lancers
Ellsworth Community Schools is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to serve as the Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Coach beginning with the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, competitive, and development-focused environment for student-athletes while upholding the values and traditions of ECS Lancers athletics and the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA).
Responsibilities Include:
- Organizing and directing practices, games, and team activities
- Teaching individual skills, team concepts, and strategies appropriate to the JV level • Supporting the overall development of the ECS boys basketball program
- Maintaining compliance with MHSAA rules, district policies, and student eligibility standards • Fostering positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and school staff
- Communicating effectively with the Varsity Head Coach and Athletic Director
Qualifications:
Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, integrity, and a genuine commitment to educational athletics. Prior coaching or playing experience at the high school level or above is preferred. Successful candidates will be required to obtain CPR/First Aid certification and complete all required MHSAA coaching certifications prior to the start of the season.
