Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support high-volume, business-critical production platforms within enterprise brokerage and money movement systems. This role involves designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting mainframe applications while collaborating closely with business, product, architecture, operations, and engineering teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong mainframe development expertise, excellent analytical skills, and experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in fast-paced production environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance business-critical mainframe applications and platforms
  • Perform detailed analysis for maintenance and enhancement projects across batch and online environments
  • Design, deploy, and support software releases into production environments
  • Collaborate with business, product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Work closely with operations teams and vendors to support system stability and operational excellence
  • Develop solutions based on business, system, product, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform unit, functional, and regression testing to ensure application quality and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve high-severity and critical production issues
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term technical solutions
  • Maintain technical documentation and development artifacts
  • Support ongoing modernization and integration initiatives involving distributed technologies and cloud platforms
  • Participate in continuous learning and technology improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of software development experience supporting enterprise-wide, business-critical applications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • COBOL
  • CICS
  • DB2
  • VSAM
  • JCL
  • IBM Utilities
  • FileAID
  • Endevor
  • SQL
  • Debugging tools
  • Schedulers
  • IOMs
  • Experience performing detailed analysis in batch and online mainframe environments
  • Experience supporting production releases and application deployments
  • Strong understanding of data security and secure application practices
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience handling high-severity and critical production support issues
  • Excellent testing, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced Agile or enterprise development environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing COBOL and native stored procedures
  • Experience with distributed technologies such as Java and RESTful API-based architectures
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure in hybrid mainframe-cloud integration environments
  • Experience supporting modernization or integration initiatives involving legacy and distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of enterprise financial or brokerage platforms
