Job description

JOB SUMMARY


Assists the Registered Physical Therapist with client related activities and performs delegated procedures commensurate with education and training. Treats clients with disability, injury and disease through the use of cold, heat, massage, ultrasound, exercise, radiant energy, hydrotherapy and electricity as assigned in accordance with the physician's orders.


QUALIFICATIONS



  1. Graduate of an approved school PT program

  2. Currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Physical Therapists Assistant

  3. At least one year of hospital experience under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Duties of the Physical Therapy Assistant include, but are not limited to:

I. Functions as a participating team member who contributes to total client care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist.

2. Performs routine treatment/care, services and procedures in accordance with the Plan of Care and planned, delegated and supervised by the therapist.

3. Observes, records, and reports to the supervisor conditions, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties.

4. Observes and reports to the Registered Physical Therapist changes in the client's condition and level of function, results of testing, and responses to the therapeutic
program.

5. Maintains clinical records, clinical notes and progress reports on each client in accordance with the Agency's documentation requirements.

6. Participates in educating the patient and family and in in-service programs.

7. Respects patient rights, cultural beliefs.

8. Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient/Agency information

9. Adheres to all Agency Policies and Procedures including HIPPA and in in service programs provided by the agency.
