Orthodontic Assistant

Job Description

Ensure all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use
Take intraoral X-rays, CT scans, and panoramic X-rays as directed by the doctor
Photograph patients’ teeth to assist in treatment planning and document progress
Take dental molds and impressions for customized mouth guards, retainers, and appliances
Perform Itero scans for Invisalign, Vivera retainers, night guards, and orthotics
Place and remove Invisalign attachments; remove and replace wires, coil springs, donuts, and elastic bands
Educate patients on oral hygiene and braces/Invisalign aftercare
Check in and monitor Invisalign cases, night guards, and orthotics
Provide chairside support and ensure patient comfort during orthodontic procedures

Salary Range

Part-time $21 - $29 per hour

Requirements
  • X-ray / Radiography Certification
  • iTero

Skilled in intraoral X-rays, Itero scanning, and orthodontic procedures
Knowledge of infection control, sterilization protocols, and dental terminology
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Caring, professional, and team-oriented attitude

Preferences
  • Experienced Dental Assistant (1+ years)
  • Registered dental assistant / Certified dental assistant

1–3 years of experience as an Orthodontic Assistant (California RDA or Orthodontic Assistant permit strongly preferred)
