Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) for a 13-week travel assignment in Seattle, Washington.

This role is ideal for an IR professional with recent experience supporting complex image-guided procedures in a fast-paced acute-care hospital setting. The technologist will work closely with interventional radiologists, nurses, and other members of the procedural team to support safe, efficient, and technically accurate care.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of recent Interventional Radiology experience and must be comfortable with advanced IR procedures including Y-90 therapy, GI bleed interventions, TPA-related procedures, venous sampling, and Phase II recovery support.

Key Responsibilities

        Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures.

        Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, supplies, and sterile fields.

        Position patients appropriately for image-guided procedures.

        Support vascular and nonvascular IR procedures.

        Maintain sterile technique throughout invasive procedures.

        Assist with catheters, guidewires, vascular access equipment, contrast administration, and other procedural supplies within scope of practice.

        Monitor procedural workflow and anticipate physician and team needs.

        Support safe delivery of Y-90 therapies and other advanced interventional procedures.

        Assist during procedures for active GI bleeding.

        Support TPA-related interventions when indicated.

        Assist with venous sampling procedures.

        Support Phase II recovery and post-procedure patient care as appropriate to role and facility policy.

        Participate in procedural time-outs and safety checks.

        Follow radiation safety, infection-control, and patient-safety standards.

        Maintain accurate documentation using Epic.

        Utilize Pyxis for medication-related workflow as applicable.

        Respond appropriately during urgent or emergent procedural situations.

        Participate in required call coverage.

Required Experience

Candidates must have:

        Recent Interventional Radiology Technologist experience

        Minimum 1 year of IR experience preferred

        Experience with advanced interventional procedures

        Strong understanding of sterile technique and procedural safety

        Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute-care environment

        Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills

        Ability to participate in call coverage

Required Advanced Procedure Experience

Candidates must be comfortable with:

        Y-90 therapy / chemo delivery

        GI bleed interventions

        TPA-related procedures

        Venous sampling

        Phase II recovery support

Required Certifications

Candidates must have:

        Current BLS

        Current ACLS

All required certifications must remain current throughout the assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong candidates may also have:

        More than 1 year of recent IR experience

        Previous travel or contract experience

        Experience in a large acute-care hospital

        Experience with vascular and nonvascular procedures

        Experience with emergency or trauma IR cases

        Epic documentation experience

        Pyxis experience

        Strong recovery-room or post-procedure monitoring experience

Schedule Requirements

        Day Shift

        Four 10-hour shifts per week

        7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

        40 hours per week

Call Requirements

Call participation is required and typically includes:

        Approximately one overnight call shift per week

        Approximately one weekend every 5th or 6th weekend

Candidates must be able to respond to urgent or emergency procedural needs while on call.
