  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience prior to completion of a Nurse Practitioner program
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current Louisiana RN license and current Louisiana Nurse Practitioner registration
  • Outstanding clinical expertise with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

What You Will Do:
Job Purpose:
Provide direct patient care under the direction of physicians while following established nursing and clinical protocols. Deliver evidence-based care appropriate to the age population served within the department's scope of service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive direct patient care, including assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing evaluation
  • Perform delegated medical interventions and procedures in accordance with approved protocols
  • Write and maintain accurate medical documentation, including assessments, progress notes, and orders
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
  • Order, interpret, and incorporate laboratory, respiratory, and radiology results into patient care plans
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized patient plans of care
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, hospitalization, and discharge planning
  • Coordinate patient care and serve as a resource for staff, patients, and families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety practices
  • Maintain professional competencies and contribute to nursing education through mentorship and in-services
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals
