Job description

International Multimedia Journalist -- I  

Primary responsibilities:  

  Assist production staff with preparation for live and recorded broadcasts.  

  Help compile scripts, production notes, guest information, and program materials.  

  Support studio setup and prepare production areas prior to broadcasts.  

  Coordinate basic communication between production personnel, guests, and talent.  

  Escort guests and assist with check-in and studio logistics.  

  Monitor production schedules and help ensure materials are available when needed.  

  Assist with gathering video clips, graphics, and other production elements.  

  Perform research and fact-gathering to support program development. 

Assists in the preparation of production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including simple editing of voiceover and soundcuts from taped material, as assigned  

Contributes to teamwork, facilitating tasks of teammates, as needed  

Meets VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines  

Works as a member of a team  

Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with VOA’s digital asset management system  

Trains as a multimedia journalist (video, audio, editing)  

Trains on the use of technical equipment  

Other related duties as assigned
